All around excellent. The hoodoo trail is a great family hike with the accompanying information brochure. The hoodoos between the campground and the visitor center are fun to explore. The little beach on the river is perfect for cooling down. And the guided tours through the visitor center are a must.
Beautiful landscape! I had a really great time here. Be aware that most of the writings are only accessible by guided tour (20 dollars per person). The trail between the visitor centre and the battle scene has a lot of up and down but is a pretty easy trail (our elderly dog with arthritis was able to handle it with minimal help). Be sure to keep a close eye out for snakes and other creatures!It is unfortunate that many people have felt it necessary to deface the sandstone in many places. Don't be one of those people!
Took my family hiking here on the Thanksgiving weekend in October. The fall colors and landscape at this time of the year are amazing!! Another bonus...don't need to worry about the rattlesnakes at his time either :) Hiked the self-guided 2.5 km trail to see the Battle Scene petroglyphs. An incredible piece of preserved history!! I'm always in awe when I visit this place :) I enjoy coming to this place anytime...but the Fall is still my favorite!
A really nice provincial park. Getting here was pretty easy, the information centre was helpful and getting around the park is easy.The park itself is not very big but there is lots to explore. The rocks, or hoodoo, are fascinating and something every Albertan should do. The whole park seems somewhat flat so you definitely would not need hiking boots.
Clean, well laid out camp grounds. Makes me want to take my Scouts camping there again.Lots of wild life. Very natural setting. Always love going there.
